Course Summary

Introduction to Photoshop

After you've completed a short course in Photoshop at Sunshine Coast TAFE, your images will be picture perfect. In this extensive beginners course you will learn the fundamentals of how Photoshop works and begin your journey towards Photoshop mastery. You will also learn about the associated programs that go with Photoshop (Bridge and Camera Raw). If you want to understand how to best use Photoshop for your photography, this program will get you started and give you more skills than you thought possible.

You will explore:

  • the tools of Photoshop
  • layers and how they operate
  • layer masks
  • blending modes
  • selections
  • colour correction
  • filters
  • basic retouching - removing objects, cleaning up an image
  • composites and montages
  • image resolution and output

All form fields are required.

To complete this short course you will need:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Access to Photoshop Software CS4 or above (for homework tasks)
  • 1GB USB required to bring to class
