Course Summary

Intermediate Photography


Take your photographic knowledge to the next level. This course is designed for people who have previously completed the Beginners Photography course, or who have a solid theoretical and practical knowledge of photography to begin with. It is intended for people who wish to gain more creative control over their photography and lighting, through a combination of an exploration of the relevant theory and practical application of that theory. You may wish to include your successful photographs in your folio submission for further Certificate and Diploma studies.

Students will learn about:

  • the art of exposure
  • metering modes and exposure compensation
  • how to use shutter speed and aperture creatively
  • how to shoot to maximise data collection
  • histograms and how to interpret them
  • various lenses and their application
  • shooting for Photoshop
  • how to analyse and apply light
  • painting with light
  • lighting with small flash
  • digital workflow

All form fields are required.

Pen and paper to take notes
