Elements of Shipboard Safety (ESS)- Competencies taken from TDM20307


Ensure all of your boating experiences sail smoothly by completing a short course in Elements of Shipboard Safety (ESS) at Sunshine Coast TAFE. This safety skill set covers the Elements of Shipboard Safety (ESS) competency units required by Marine Safety Queensland. Study areas include - basic fire fighting; life raft skills; emergency procedures; shipboard OH&S and survival at sea in the event of vessel abandonment.


ESS will run over three days. You will need to bring Shorts, Tee Shirt for activities in the Kawana Pool. No Transport will be provided. On the third day you'll need long pants, shirt and hat for Drills.

All form fields are required.
