Program

Information :

The course consists of a fairly equal distribution of theory and practical sessions. The practical component is in the form of hands-on experience in the college restaurants. The college restaurants are open to the public where breakfast, lunches and dinners are served on certain days of the week. Your training is geared towards these practical experiences. You will be required to train in the restaurants at night on Thursdays and Fridays. This provides practical training in restaurants, hotels and the many food outlets on the Sunshine Coast so students can experience first-hand the atmosphere and experience of working in a real food and beverage environment. Fidelio and Hirum are the front office software that you will be using whilst at TAFE. They are both widely used throughout the hospitality industry.

An industry placement module is also included.

An overnight industry visit at a 5 Star Gold Coast property is also included in the course. You will be actively participating in the day to day operations of the hotel.
