Certificate IV in Accounting (FNS40611)

(International Students)

This qualification will be a great boost to your CV as almost all businesses could benefit from someone with the skills this course provides. After you have successfully completed this course you can continue for another 6 months to complete the Diploma of Accounting which creates a pathway to University if desired.

This qualification covers the skills to contribute to the financial operation of business or organisations. The areas covered include keeping financial records both manually and using a computer accounting system, operating a payroll system, preparing BAS and IAS returns, managing assets, awareness of legal issues that affect business and budgeting.

Course commences Tuesday 10th July, 2012.
Orientation is Monday 9th July, 9am-12pm. Lecture Theatre Maroochydore Campus.

Course timetable Monday to Fridays mostly 9.00am - 3.00pm.

 

Career Prospects :

Employment in a range of businesses undertaking duties such as completing Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other tax returns, operational reporting, budget preparation, supervision of computer-based systems, management of small offices.

 

Academic Entry Requirements :

Completion of the equivalent of Australian Year 12 (12 years of schooling) or mature age entry

 

English Language Requirements :

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS), academic module - score of 5.5 with no individual score less than 5.0; NOTE: Applicants from AL3 and AL4 countries must sit an IELTS test.
  • Pearsons PTE Academic - minimum test score of 42
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - minimum score of - 530 for the paper based test; 197 for the computer based; 71 for the internet based test.
  • International Second Language Proficiency Rating (ISLPR) - minimum individual score of 3;
  • TAFE Queensland Certificate IV in English;
  • Australian Year 12 English (or equivalent) - Sound Achievement rating;
  • Cambridge First Certificate of English - A or B grades;
  • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English;
  • Successful completion of an acceptable formal course where the medium of instruction was English. This does not include English Language Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS).
  • Successful completion of TAFE Queensland bridging course Certificate III in Communication and Business Skills for International Students.
