Want a job that can take you anywhere? A Pre-Vocational Course in General Construction (Carpentry) from Sunshine Coast TAFE could be the building blocks for your trade qualification. By completing this course you could enhance your opportunities to gain a construction apprenticeship and ultimately lead you towards a trade qualification.

Throughout this course we’ll teach you how to: follow OH&S policies and procedures; work safely and effectively in the general construction industry; plan and organise work; conduct workplace communication; carry out measurements and calculations; handle construction materials; undertake a basic construction project; and use carpentry tools and equipment.

This Certificate is suitable for vocational education and training in schools, or as a pathway qualification. It may provide career clarification and improve participation in training by equity groups.

Your assessment will cover - assignments, tests, oral questioning, observation and third party reports. Assessment is competency based and you will be required to complete all projects and assignments, written and/or practical, as set out within the TAFE student handbook.
