We’ll help your develop skills and knowledge in the installation and management of a range of networks, including internetworking, security and e-business integration and teach you to be effective in network management either as an independent ICT specialist or as part of a team. The qualification has a number of logical relationships with vendor certifications for ICT networking technologies.

Sunshine Coast TAFE has been delivering training in ICT for over 20 years and delivers via a blended learning methodology including an immersion learning philosophy where students actually get to build manage and maintain a live network infrastructure.

Sunshine Coast TAFE is a member of the Microsoft IT Academy and Alliance Programs enabling students to access the latest Microsoft online training material and students get academic access to a large number of Microsoft products including Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

Duration of Study:
2 years - which includes the Certificate III, IV and Diploma subjects.

The course is condensed to 19 Weeks full time if you have satisfactorily completed the Certificate II/III & IV Information Technology previously. Please call 5457 1000 to speak with a Teacher.

Course may also be offered Part Time over 3 to 5 years.

Students may also gain direct entry into the Diploma program via enrolment into the Certificate III in Information Technology then proceed to Certificate IV then Diploma.

 

Career Prospects :

After graduation you could work as a network manager or administrator within an organisation. Possible job titles include:

Entry Requirement :

You must have successfully completed year 12 (or equivalent) or have relevant experience and/or qualifications that indicates likely success in completing the course.

Assessment Information :

As a student you will be assessed via various modes including - assignments, tests, oral questioning, observation and third party reports. Assessment is competency based and requires the completion of all projects and assignments, written and/or practical, as set out within the course documentation.
