Diploma of Engineering - Technical (MEM50211)

Activate your career in engineering with the new Diploma of Engineering - Technical due to commence at Sunshine Coast TAFE in 2012. You will gain the skills and qualification needed to work as a technical expert in a wide variety of engineering disciplines. A major area of your studies will focus on the latest Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and 3D modelling software tools. If you are interested in how things work and would like a career developing, presenting and documenting ideas, this is the course for you.

This course is also well suited to those already working in an engineering office or qualified engineering tradespersons looking to further their career ‘off the tools' within their discipline.

Information :

This course will be run typically over 2.5 days per week during the academic semester. This ensures you are available for work, potentially within an engineering office to gain valuable experience to complement your studies.

It is desirable that you have access to a computer for homework, etc however access to all required software is provided. 

Career Prospects :

Employment as part of an engineering team within a wide variety disciplines. Major areas of work include CAD draftpersons, estimators, etc. 

Entry Requirement :

You must have successfully completed year 12 (or equivalent) with preferrably a sound achievement in maths or have relevant experience and/or qualifications that indicates likely success in completing the course. Mature age students welcome.

Students required to apply through QTAC and also submit an application directly to SCIT.
