Get your environmental career off the ground with a Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management at Sunshine Coast TAFE. This program combines sound environmental practices with general land management.
Throughout this program you’ll gain practical experience and theoretical knowledge in the application of conservation and land management projects, including bush regeneration, revegetation, plant and weed identification and control, local area ecosystems and environmental issues.
The Conservation and Land Management Training Package provides national career pathways and opportunities for workers at all levels of employment in diverse yet related industry sectors associated with national resource management.

This program runs 3 days a week (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) from 9:00am - 4:00pm.
You must supply you own safety clothing including, steel capped boots, gloves, a broad brimmed hat & collared shirt, secateurs and stationery. You will not be permitted into classes unless you comply with the minimum dress standard.
All jewellery & watches should be removed during practical work. You will be required to wear steel capped boots with non-slip soles for the working environment. You should wear clothing manufactured from a breathable absorbent material, such as 100% cotton. Sunscreen will be provided for exposed skin in outdoor activities. A suitable broad brimmed hat is required to be worn for all activities that involve exposure to the sun.
|Career Prospects :||After successfully completing the program you may work within such fields as bush regenerator, vegetation management, weed control, pest animal management, and other varied industries associated with the environment.
Employment opportunities exist with government and industry including local government councils, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, Department of Primary Industries, Greening Australia, Landcare, Waterwatch, property developers, private consultants, landscape contractors and nurseries
|Entry Requirement :||You must have successfully completed year 10 (or equivalent), turned 16 or have relevant experience and/or qualifications that indicate likely success in completing the course.|
|Assessment Information :||Assessment occurs throughout the course through both practical and theoretical exercises. Assessment is competency based and you must complete all projects and assignments, written and/or practical, as set out within the unit study guides and workbooks. Written, verbal and practical assessments make up the majority of assessments, but attendance, general attitude and your application to your studies are also taken into account.

|Certificate 3 Guarantee Non-Concession Fee:||$1293|
The Certificate 3 Guarantee is for any eligible Queensland resident who does not already hold, or is not currently enrolled in a post-school Certificate 3 or higher qualification. From 1 July 2013 (this means any equivalent certificate 3 or higher level qualification, irrespective of whether the qualification is through a University Degree, Apprenticeship or Traineeship pathway).
|Certificate 3 Guarantee Concession Fee :||$591
Concession under the Certificate 3 Guarantee is available to holders of a Health Care Concession Card or Pensioner Concession Card or is the partner or dependant of a person who holds such a card or is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander origin.
